Dental Implants

Drs. Allan Libunao and Richard Kim use advanced techniques and technology to place your dental implants. Before beginning treatment, they will take panorex x-rays to determine the precise positioning of your implant posts. Then they will carefully set the implant post or posts in your jawbone. Your gums and bone will heal around the posts, which will act as a stable anchor for your new dental restoration. If you are nervous about your treatment, we offer nitrous oxide and intravenous (IV) sedation to help you relax.

Types of Dental Implants

Dental implants are available in a wide range of materials. At Suburban Oral Surgery and Implant Center, we only use traditional titanium implants because of their biocompatibility, strength, and durability. We proudly offer the most respected implant brands on the market. These include Nobel Biocare®, Zimmer, Thommen, Straumann®, and OCO Biomedical. Our oral surgeons will help you choose the right brand to meet your oral health needs and budget.

Dental Implant Restorations

Dental implants can support several types of restorations, including crowns, bridges, and even full dentures. After your gums have healed, we will connect abutment pieces to the implant posts. The restorations can be attached to the abutments for a secure hold. Our restorations are made of the highest quality materials, and they will be custom-made to complement your smile.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants offer significant advantages over other types of dental restorations. They can completely restore your dental function for improved quality of life. They are permanent and extremely stable – you will never have to worry about your teeth slipping out of place while you are eating or speaking. Additionally, dental implants are the only restorative treatment that can prevent jawbone recession. In this way, they can add structure to your face and reduce the appearance of sunken cheeks. What’s more, they have an overall success rate of about 95%!

Candidacy for Dental Implants

If you desire lifelike, stable restorations for your missing teeth, you may be a good candidate for dental implants. To undergo this treatment, you must have enough bone to support the implant posts. Fortunately, even if you have suffered bone degeneration as a result of tooth loss, we offer oral surgery procedures that can add structure to your jawbone. During bone grafting or a sinus lift, we can add bone or a synthetic substitute to increase jaw density.
